Albania Has Introduced the United Visa for Immigrants

In Albania, foreign citizens, including remote workers, au pairs, property buyers and pensioners, can now apply for a unique permit that combines existing visa, work permit and residence permit applications into a single simplified application.

Details. The permit will replace some of the existing application procedures, including work and residence permits, release certificates and work registration certificates.

The unique permit is expected to reduce administrative barriers and processing delays as a result of an online application and an accelerated processing process of two months, which is shorter than other permits in Albania.

Why is it necessary:

• A faster process. It is expected that the unique permit will speed up and centralize the process of obtaining a visa, residence permit and work permit, reducing administrative barriers and, as a result, reducing delays in the process.  
• Efforts to combat skills shortages and depopulation. This permit is aimed at facilitating access to residence permits and work permits for some foreign citizens in order to meet industry demand and revitalize the aging population of the country.
