Italian house prices rose by 1.3% in 2023, but the rise was less than the year before when they increased by 3.8%, Istat said.
In the fourth quarter of 2023, the index of housing prices (HICP) purchased by households for residence or investment purposes remained unchanged compared to the previous quarter and increased by 1.8% compared to the same period in 2022. In the third quarter of 2023 it was +1.7%.
The greatest increase was in prices for new dwellings (+5.6%), while for secondary housing the rise was very modest (+0.4%).
