New Tax Regime for Digital Nomads in Spain

What happened? The Spanish government has announced that it will reduce taxes and improve visa opportunities for employees who prefer to work remotely. The relevant bill will allow "to attract and restore international and national talents," the Ministry of Economic Affairs said in a statement on Twitter.

Details. Digital nomads will have the right to live and work remotely in Spain for five years. At the same time, they will be charged only income tax for non-residents, which is calculated at a reduced rate.

The innovation is part of the startup bill, which the Spanish government hopes will help to attract investors who support emerging companies in the technology sector. The opening of companies will be simplified as much as possible, and a special tax regime will be created for startups.
