Beschreibung

For sale is a castle built in 1280, first mentioned in the 13th century.

In 2018, we prepared an architectural renovation project for a boutique hotel and received a building permit!

At that time, probably, together with a defensive moat, it was a fortress to protect against the Turks. It was named after the then owner - "Graets". It was later heavily rebuilt. The owners were also Yuri Lell, the counts of Thurn-Valsassina, Purgstali, and after them, in the period from 1661 to 1846 (185 years), the barons Gusichi. Since then they have been joined by the knight Friedau, the Ottenfels-Gschwind family and finally the wholesaler Shutei from Zagreb. In 1999, the castle became the property of the state.

The castle consists of the buildings "high castle" and a 19th century outbuilding, "low castle", a former school, a stable and a castle park with a garden and the grave of the former owner Ivan Husich. Recent studies have revealed painted walls with baroque and classicist paintings in all rooms. The buildings are in relatively good condition, with the exception of some ceilings on the third floor of the "high castle". The remains of the burnt barn can still be seen in the castle courtyard. Once upon a time, a small wooden bridge connected the castle fields and the ironworks with the castle.

The castle has a beautiful park with a well-groomed alley and a garden. Experts classify the castle park as one of the most interesting and beautiful parks in Slovenia and refer to garden architecture. The park was designed in the 17th century when the Gusich family owned the castle.

The castle is located in the heart of nature, but only a good hour's drive from the two capitals - Ljubljana and Zagreb, which also have airports. Nearby, a small airport project is being prepared, which, in this way, will be able to connect Belaya Krajina with Primorskaya or Gorenskaya regions and present all of Slovenia and its beauties to potential guests. This is a great starting point for many nature trips; a visit to the Kolpa and Lahinja Regional Park where you can swim, boat or cycle through beautiful unspoiled nature.

We can offer you full support for the reconstruction project and control of turnkey construction work under the contract.

Price upon request.
