Immigration to Switzerland
Stability, predictability, confidentiality and moderate taxes are the features that attract wealthy foreigners to Switzerland. It is not easy to become a resident of this European country, foreigners cannot buy real estate in every canton. The number of properties available for purchase by citizens of other countries is set annually. Same with passports: the path to Swiss citizenship is through a residence permit and long-term residence in the country or marriage.
Despite the fact that Switzerland strives to preserve its identity and protect its territories from the influx of refugees and citizens of countries outside the EU, the authorities are loyal to investors who are ready to engage in useful business projects.
But the conditions are not suitable for everyone: only a very well-off foreigner with a starting capital of €9.3 million (10 million Swiss francs) can become a member of the investment residence permit program for self-employed top-managers. But even if there is sufficient investment, not every project is selected, as it is important for the applicant to create jobs and meet the economic interests of the country.
