Descripción

Seaview modern villa for sale in Italy

The iconic "Stone House", a masterpiece designed by global superstars Herzog & de Meuron, is for Sale in Liguria, Italy.
This fantastic Villa for Sale in Liguria, harmoniously set in its private park of about 7.500 m2, represents a unique chance to buy a real masterpiece of architecture in Liguria, Italy.
The Stone House sits like an irregular mass in the hinterland of the Ligurian coast. The open olive groves with their natural stone walls, the location high up on the slope, the view of the surrounding valleys and, ten kilometres away, the distant sea combine to provide a picturesque setting.
Accomodation includes: reception room, living room, eat-in kitchen, 3 bedrooms, study, 3 bathrooms, laundry room, store room, garage, 70 m2 terrace, beautiful natural garden with a swimming pool designed in 2004 by the Italian Architect Micol Maiga.
From Herzog & de Meuron website:
"Stone House, Liguria, Italy - Project 1982, realization 1988 - 1990
Set in an undulating landscape of abandoned olive groves, the three-storey house stands on a promontory, engaging part of a former stone terrace. The design concept of the house is based on the fusion of plan, elevation and section. The building is characterized by a cross, made visible in the construction of the side walls where the in-fill dry stone comes in contact with the reinforced concrete frame. The structure occupies the centre on the "piano nobile", while on the top floor spaces are more interconnected. Here, the house rises above the trees, giving a panoramic view through the vertically articulated strip windows. This notion of extension has its equivalent in the opposite direction with the raised terrace and its pergola-like enclosure. The external wall infills are of slate-like rubble stones, the window shutters are of steel sheets and the door and window linings are of split slate sheets. On the whole, the detailing is spare."
Herzog & de Meuron received international attention very early in their careers with the Blue House in Oberwil, Switzerland (1980); the Stone House in Liguria, Italy (1988); and the Apartment Building along a Party Wall in Basel, Switzerland (1988). The firm's breakthrough project was the Ricola Storage Building in Laufen, Switzerland (1987). Renown in the United States came with Dominus Winery in Yountville, California, USA (1998). Their most recognized buildings include Prada Aoyama Epicenter in Tokyo, Japan (2003); Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany (2005); the new Cottbus Library for the BTU Cottbus, Germany (2005); the National Stadium Beijing, the Main Stadium for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Herzog & de Meuron's recently completed buildings include VitraHaus, a new building to present Vitra's "Home Collection", Weil am Rhein, Germany (2010) and the expansion plan of The Tate Modern in London.
