The castle is located in the province of Alessandria in a medieval settlement on the hills between Monferrato and Langhe of the Piedmont wine region.
The castle was called the ";Royal Castle"; because it was bought by Queen Cristina di Borbone.
The castle has retained the original defensive walls. The majestic building is surrounded by a park with centuries-old trees and a two-hundred-year-old plane tree.
The castle has been mentioned in official documents since 1367, when the city came into the possession of Galeazzo Visconti, but it is known for certain that before that there was already a fortress here to protect the city. In 1908, the Ministry of Education declared the castle a valuable national monument of art and history.
Completely restored object consists of:
• The main part of the castle: 4 floors with a total area of 1700 sq.m. On the ground floor, rooms with historical elements have been preserved, such as the reception hall with a coffered ceiling, adjoining rooms decorated with frescoes from the early 1800s, and a loggia leading to the castle chapel, now inactive. On the second floor there are seven bedrooms with bathrooms; on the third floor there are two large bedrooms with private bathrooms.
• Guest rooms: a building separate from the main building of the castle, which was once used as a stable, and now occupies two floors with a total area of 580 square meters.
• A park that completely surrounds the castle, with a total area of 7000 square meters.
The small medieval town offers all the necessary services, while other centers of Piedmont are nearby, such as Alessandria (13 km), Asti (25 km), Alba (51 km).
The location is also convenient from Milan (100 km), Genoa (96 km) and Turin (75 km). The nearest airport is in Genoa, about 80 km away, but the hotel can also be reached quickly from Milan airports. Linate (115 km), Milan Malpensa (135 km) and Turin (113 km).
The place, located between Monferrato and Langhe, is a world-famous area for the production of a wide variety of wines.
