5717 Kemessömjen is located on the eastern edge of Vas County, in the southern part of the small plain, at the confluence of the Kemeneshát and Marcal basins, about 5 kilometers north-northwest of Celldömölk. Most of its territory is a slightly hilly plain with mainly cultivated land and meadows along the Cinca stream, bordered by vineyards to the north-west.
The neighboring towns are Vönöck in the north-east, Kemenesszentmárton in the east, Celldömölk in the south, Kemenesmihályfa in the west and Csönge in the north-west. Its administrative territory is even a short distance to the south-east, even on the border with the village of Merseva.
Reachability
Kemessömjen can only be reached via the road touching Kemenesmihályfa and Vönöck, from both directions on road 8454. Its eastern boundary is delimited by road 8611, but this largely bypasses its inhabited areas.
