Conditions are the same for all investors. They do not need to live permanently in the country, it is enough to appear for a week or two a year. After 5 years of saving the investment, the holder of the "golden visa" and their family can issue a permanent residence permit, and after another year – citizenship.
For those who intend to live permanently in Portugal, there is a convenient option: a residence permit for financially independent individuals. Most often it is used by pensioners, but it can be good for those who are younger. To get it, you will need to get a home, show sufficient income and spend at least six months in the country every year.
