He studied Computer Science and Business Economics at the TU Braunschweig in Germany, which was founded in 1745 and is one of the oldest technical universities in Europe. He graduated with honors with a master's degree in Computer Engineering, and also has a bachelor's degree in Economics.

His professional career includes more than 25 years of consulting work in major European banks and insurance companies, such as UniCredit Group, Allianz AG, HypoVereinsbank and Aareal Bank, which are European financial leaders in commercial real estate. From 1996 to 2001, his experience in computer-based operational management helped develop DAB Bank AG in Munich from a small specialized brokerage firm to one of Europe's largest private equity banks.

After moving to Switzerland in 2006, he became one of the founding partners of Benesteem, where he still works today. The main task is to develop and manage long-term investment strategies with a focus on low risk and inflation protection for wealthy individual and institutional clients.

Ulrich Knappe is a recognized expert in risk assessment and computer analysis of investments. It is one of the officially registered members of Fitch, Moody's and Standard & Poor's. He regularly serves as a speaker at international conferences and seminars on investment and real estate.

His hobbies include skiing in the Alps, historical sports cars, classical music, food and wine tasting. He has residences in Switzerland and Austria, speaks German, English, Italian and a little Russian. For many years, he has been married to Russian lawyer Alla Knapp, who specializes in international holding structures.
