Former territory of the deanery of Asnebec in the Middle Ages, Carrouges knew its fame at the end of the 15th century, with the construction of a collegiate church by Jean de Blosset, great marshal of Normandy and lord of Carrouges. In addition to its natural setting suitable for hiking and other outdoor activities, the village of Carrouges is known to tourists for its castle founded in the XIVth century by Jean de Carrouges.
