Just a few minutes' drive from the town of Argegno and its waterfront stands a historic villa built in 1780 by a noble Austrian family.
One of those who lived in the villa was, no less, the artist Baldassarre Longoni (1876-1956), a master in the direction of Divisionism, who actively worked at the junction of the XIX and XX centuries, also worked in the directions of realism and naturalism. Originally from Valle Intelvi, this artist was one of the most interesting creators of art in Lombardy between the XIX and XX century.
Since 2011, the villa has been completely renovated.
The richness of details and decorative elements that convey a passion for art and various world cultures is amazing: silk wallpaper, finishing materials of the highest class, perfectly preserved original details (floor coverings, frescoes).
Each room presents a different culture: walking through the villa, you go from Chinese themes to Japanese, Russian and Italian. In this sense, the villa gives a sense of intercultural diversity, while remaining a single and integral object.
On the ground floor you are greeted by an entrance hall, a spacious living room and a large terrace with a wonderful view of the lake. The kitchen is custom-made, and the functioning fireplace in the center conveys the style of the era. Passing by an elegant staircase with access to the balcony, you get into a bright dining room with access to a cozy terrace overlooking the park. There is also a guest bathroom with an outstanding wooden door created by a famous Russian master.
On the second floor there are two large bedrooms (one of them with access to a panoramic terrace), a boudoir, a second terrace and a bathroom with luxurious finishes.
The attic floor is occupied by two open spaces with beams on the ceiling, as well as a large terrace.
On the ground floor there are various technical rooms, a spacious cellar, storerooms, a bedroom and a bathroom. There is a gazebo and a portico.
A large park, surprisingly similar to the park of the famous Villa Carlotta in terms of the number of valuable plant specimens, boasts amazing century-old trees.
Absolute privacy and breathtaking lake views.
An ideal option for connoisseurs of real estate with historical chic.
Definitely worth seeing!
