Geographical location

This is a hilly vineyard area between Monferrato and Lange, famous all over the world for its wines. Due to its history, this area has been included in the UNESCO Heritage List.

Description of buildings

The castle is located in the heart of a traditional Piedmontese settlement. Together with a few others, the castle has preserved the original fortress walls, which makes it an architectural landmark.

The five-storey castle with a fully visible load-bearing masonry has its own architectural features that send us back to the Middle Ages: biforiums, Gothic-style windows separated by a column, small arches, fragments and a tower with battlements in the eastern part of the castle. Part of the brick walls of the castle is covered with green creeping ivy.

The main floor still retains historical rooms with a special atmosphere: a reception room with coffered ceilings, connected halls decorated with frescoes of the early XIX century, a gallery that led to the chapel of the castle, currently inactive.

The castle acquired its modern appearance as a result of numerous transformations that took place over the centuries at the request of different owners. During the last restoration, the coffered ceiling of the main floor, valuable frescoes in its halls and the majestic eastern tower, which still fascinates visitors to the castle, were realized.

During the renovation work to transform the castle into an elite hotel and a place for exclusive ceremonies, the ancient atmosphere of the building was preserved and, at the same time, the common spaces and rooms were modernized in accordance with the highest technical standards, making them as comfortable as possible for use.
