Description

Eighteenth-century villa with dock in...

Steeped in centuries of history, Villa Sardagna dates from the 18th century. Named after the noble family of Sardagna, the villa became the primary residence for Baron Sardagna after his marriage to the Countess Calvi at the end of the 19th century.
Kept as a private family residence until 1981, left abandoned for almost 15 years, the owner bought the villa in 1995 and set about the monumental task of restoring it to its former beauty, turning it into the luxury and exclusive venue that it is today.
The 20-year project not only took in the building itself but also the surrounding park. A labour of love, the villa was dismantled from roof down and restored with passion and precision, using original materials and traditional methods wherever possible.
The restoration. The 20-year long restoration project had the owner scour the whole of Italy for period furniture. The result is an eclectic yet harmonious mix of authentic and original pieces mixed with personal style, including a rare Bluthner piano from 1865 that sits in the fireplace hall.
The interiors. The rich, aristocratic heritage of Villa Sardagna is beautifully showcased from the roof down. Starting with the original 18th century colour palette of muted yellows and gentle greens to compliment ornately gilded ceilings, enjoy the sumptuous main rooms.
Actually there are 6 luxury appointed double bedroom that have been decorated with a calmer, more soothing colour-scheme of neutral tones, providing a haven of peace and tranquillity.
The grounds.
Set in beautifully manicured parkland, Villa Sardagna boasts a well-planted garden with many secular trees and shrubs. As with the villa itself, every effort has been made to respect and reflect the cultural heritage of the era. Combining tradition with modern touches Villa Sardagna and its lovely garden are now considered perfect as the go-to luxury residence on Lake Como.
Complete privacy behind wrought iron gates and mature hedges.
A short walk leads to restaurants and charming ferry for a ten minutes commute to Como, with departure several times a day!
Timeless and iconic, this estate is truly a one-in – lifetime opportunity!
