Citizenship of Saint Kitts and Nevis | Citizenship | Citizenship of Saint Kitts and Nevis

The Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis, also known as Saint Kitts and Nevis, boasts the world's oldest citizenship by investment program. The program was established in 1984 and allows foreign investors to acquire Saint Kitts and Nevis citizenship if approved. The granting of citizenship is at the sole discretion of the government following a due diligence process.

FRACTIONAL SALES

Some of the condominiums and private residences will be sold in shared ownership. Private residences will be sold along with fractional ownership of yacht berths.

FRACTIONAL vs TIMESHAR

Fractional ownership is very similar to the timeshare concept for partial use of the same unit. An important difference between both concepts is that a partial owner actually receives a legally registered title deed that demonstrates ownership over a specified period of time for that unit as specified in the sales contract.

There are three (3) types of fractional ownership:

The buyer can purchase a partial portion of a condominium or private residence with a partial yacht coupon.
The buyer can purchase a full yacht coupon (at a specific price). The yacht owner then automatically gets a fractional ownership of the condominium or private residence with a certain number of days of use per year over a lifetime.
The buyer can purchase full ownership of the condominium along with fractional ownership of the yacht.

OBTAINING CITIZENSHIP OF SAINT KITTES AND NEVIS THROUGH INVESTING IN REAL ESTATE:

Applicants can apply for citizenship by investing in a pre-approved real estate project, which may include stakes in hotels, villas and condominiums. The minimum real estate investment required by law is $ 200,000 (resale after 7 years) or $ 400,000 (resale after 5 years) for each main applicant.

Non-refundable due diligence and processing fees must also be paid upon application. These fees are $ 7,500 for the main applicant and $ 4,000 for each dependent of the main applicant who is 16 years of age or older.

Upon approval in principle of an application filed through a real estate investment, a state fee is charged in the following amount:

Main applicant: USD 35,050
Spouse of main applicant: USD 20,050
Any other qualified dependent of the main applicant, regardless of age: USD 10,050
Apart from these fees, property buyers need to be aware of the purchase costs (mainly compulsory insurance contributions and official fees)

60 DAYS ACCELERATED ST. KITS AND NEVIS CITIZENSHIP PROCESS:

The Accelerated Application Process (AAP), approved by the government of Saint Kitts and Nevis in October 2016, will speed up citizenship by investment applications by up to 60 days.

Interested individuals applying using the AAP will still be required to meet all the prerequisite criteria and provide the required supporting documents to apply for citizenship by investment.

Applications will go through expedited processing at Citizenship by Investment, due diligence providers and the Saint Kitts and Nevis passport office. As a bonus, this process also includes the application and processing of a Saint Christopher (Saint Kitts) and Nevis passport.

By submitting an application using the AAP, one can see that the application will be completed within 60 days, and some applications will be completed in 45 days.

AAP process fees (including due diligence fees)

Main applicant: USD 25,000
Dependent over 16 years old: US $ 20,000
In addition to the US $ 25,000 and US $ 20,000 AAP processing fees, there will be an additional US $ 500 per person for all dependents under the age of 16 for the Saint Kitts and Nevis passport.
