Let’s be honest, sea resorts are not what Slovenia is famous for. And frankly speaking, there are not so many beaches. But it is even better for those who prefer more privacy and lacking sunbathing bodies by the water. You can go to a wild beach such as Moon Bay, or Izola with a safe beach perfect for families. Either way, it’s perfect for a summer visit.

#4. The lakes

Also, Slovenia has plenty of options for those, who can’t imagine vacation without swimming under the warm sun. Who said you have to go to the seaside? Go to the lakes! Two magnificent Lakes Bled and Bohinj are surrounded by mountain. Lake Bled is a perfect resort for the comfort lovers: it offers good hotels, nice restaurants, plenty of entertainment and that’s not it! Unforgettable views, water sports, clean air… A great place for resting.

But if you prefer to stay on your own or want to feel closer to nature, Lake Bohinj is for you. Although, it is not in the wild, it is good to stay closer to civilization just in case. Here you can go on a hike and swim in the lake all day every day. And it is not so crowded as Lake Bled (praised by social media).

Both lakes are splendid, but you can easily choose the one that fits your style of vacation better.

Oh, the mountains… What else can you add?

Triglav national park in Slovenia is named after the highest peak in the country. You can visit it in summer since it’s a great option for professional hikers and amateurs. Or, you can visit it in winter in a company with your snowboard (or skis). Maybe you are one of those tourists who like to rent a chalet and contemplate from the balcony with a cup of morning coffee? Well, Slovenia would be perfect for that. And it is more affordable than going to Switzerland, just saying.

#2. The culture

Slovenia is unfairly unknown for it’s fascinating culture. You can start your morning with delicious štruklji, go for a walk around Ljubljana to find a dragon. Save the next day for a trip to the mountains, and visit Blejski grad on Lake Bled. The other day, you can spend in cute Maribor in the deep of the country to try traditional Slovenian stew. Finally, go to Piran on the Adriatic cost to enjoy ancient architecture and local seafood.

The country offers a great healthcare system, which can be beneficial for seniors, and its real estate market can help you to keep your assets.
