The USA is a country of immigrants. Every day more than two thousand people come here to start a new life. The share of people of foreign origin in the United States is already 14.2% – the highest in 111 years. It is a prosperous life overseas in a country with the world's largest economy, favorable business conditions, and career opportunities that are a magnet for foreigners. And the policy of the White House, which today is aimed at simplifying immigration to the States, only increases demand.
According to our data, in 2021, the EB-2 nonimmigrant investor visa became the most popular one. It allows you to move to America for business.
Immigrants are welcome here. Expats are the most valuable resource for the country's economy. Last year, the authorities issued a record 400 thousand since 1867. Permanent residence, however, focuses on those foreigners who have already lived in the country on the study, business, work, or tourist visas. The government has allocated almost $80 million to support the integration of newcomers to help them with housing, work, and adaptation. And the Prime Minister spoke about the new priorities of the immigration system.

Portugal offers eight ways to get a residence permit for investments, and also opens a fast path to EU citizenship (in five years). This makes the country very attractive for foreigners. As a result, over 10 thousand investors (excluding their family members) have received a golden visa during the nine years of the program's existence. Not a single EU investment scheme has achieved such indicators. Investors prefer real estate, but in recent years the share of alternative ways of investing has been growing.
Compared to other European countries, Greece offers a relatively inexpensive way to get a residence permit for the purchase of real estate - from €250,000. It allows you to freely travel to the Schengen countries, apply for visas to the USA and Canada in a simplified manner, receive medical services and education in the country for free, and also take with you not only your spouse and children but in many cases, parents. In 2021, a little more than 1 thousand foreigners took advantage of this opportunity, which is 10.3% more than in 2020.
In addition, to speed up the application process and eliminate queues at ministries, the authorities have launched an online platform for extending a residence permit. This measure will be even more relevant shortly. After all, digital nomads have paid attention to Greece.
Spain remains a popular destination for investors. This is confirmed by the growing indicators of 2021. The government also announced that it will reduce taxes and improve visa opportunities for digital nomads. The innovation is part of the startup bill, which the Spanish government hopes will help attract investors who support emerging companies in the technology sector.
