Quote. "Although London still has some of the highest property prices in the country, it has recorded a relatively modest increase in house prices over the past 12 months. This is partly due to the changes in housing preferences caused by the pandemic, as buyers were looking for larger properties further away from urban centers," explains Kim Kinnaird, mortgage director at Halifax.

"We can clearly see this in suburban cities such as Woking, Chelmsford and Hove, which with their more diverse set of properties possibly offering better value have recorded much greater growth over the past year," the expert concludes.
