According to a Gallup poll, Germany was the country with the highest support of the population in the world, with an indicator of confidence in the government at 44%. It is 11% more than support to the US authorities. It is noted that the level of confidence in Germany has been consistently at around 40% since 2008, except in 2018, when it fell slightly lower to 39%, writes The Local.
Gallup questioned 1,000 adult respondents in 134 countries in 2019 before the pandemic spread on their thought about global leadership. Interestingly, during the entire term of Donald Trump's presidency, Germany occupied the first place in this rating. And when Barack Obama was the President of the United States, the States were always in the top position, with the exception of 2011.
China and Russia are ranked just below Germany with confidence in the government at 32% and 30%, respectively.
Recently, Germany has been marked as the best country for startups.
