Current situation made lots of people to reconsider their day-to-day habits. We work from home, we study from home, we exercise from home, we hang out with friends on a distance. But also we think more about the consequences of this crisis for out personal lives, the way we use our environment and adapt to the changes.
The recent research from Knight Frank shows the changes in customer behaviour of realty buyers and investors. The study is based on opinions of more than 700 participants from 44 countries.
25% of respondents decided to move during the year due to pandemic. More than one third of them is planning to change the country. They make 9% of the total amount of participants.
The interest towards international real estate is growing with the reduction of quarantine measures. Of course, it is important for many to find a place with a home office somewhere outside of crowded cities. But now buyers also want to find a place where local authorities are capable of handling critical situation in a fast and effective manner.
Countries of the main interest are the UK, Spain and France. The US, Canada, Australia and Switzerland are also in the list of preferences. The choice is motivated mainly by high standard of living, stable economical and political systems, high quality of education and medicine.
Last one is especially critical at the moment, many respondents chose it as one of the reasons of changing the country. Other traditional reasons of purchasing foreign realty were still ranked as important once. Those were changing residence, developing business and career, and also buying a house for vacations.
