Credit Suisse Bank has published an annual rating of regions for doing business.

Analysts took into account a whole range of factors, including the tax base for individuals and legal entities, the availability of highly qualified employees, as well as transport accessibility.

Main conclusions

  • The top positions of the rating remained unchanged compared to last year.
  • Nidwalden, which took only the fifth place in the rating, became the most attractive in terms of corporate tax this year. But the taxation scheme for individuals is most favorable in Zug. 
  • The number of highly qualified personnel has increased in all cantons. The best regions for this indicator were Zug, Zurich, Basel-Stadt and Geneva.
  • In terms of transport accessibility, the most attractive locations were the centers of Zurich, Zug, Basel, Baden, Geneva and their suburbs.
