According to Idealista, the municipalities in which foreigners are interested in buying a house even more than the Portuguese are Porto Moniz on the island of Madeira and Lajes das Flores on the island of Flores (Azores), where 68% of the views of houses for sale were made by foreigners in the last three months. Next on the list is the municipality of Nordeste on the island of San Miguel (Azores), where 64% of the registered visits are of international origin.
The Azores. Looking at the location of 10 municipalities with a population of fewer than 5,000 people, which are more interested in foreigners than Portuguese, it turns out that the vast majority of them are located in the Azores Autonomous Region, according to the study.
In this region, the municipality of Lajes das Flores on the island of Flores had the highest international weight of visits (68%), followed by the municipality of Nordeste on the island of San Miguel (64%). The mainland. The only municipality located on the mainland that has more international demand for buying a house than the national one is Alcutim, Faro District, and Algarve. Here, 57% of visits to homes for buying came from abroad.
