Situated in a picturesque and ecologically clean bay on the northern Black Sea coast, Golden Sands resort is only 16-18 km away from Varna. Though the popular resort itself is part of a natural park situated at 277 m above sea level and occupying an area of more than 1320 hectares, the park’s largest area is preserved in its natural condition, with no human intervention. The close proximity to the sea, the mild climate and sea breeze have strongly influenced both the flora and fauna in the park, whereof it completely differs from the other national parks.
Amongst this magnificent forest massif there are many luxurious hotels, a great number of catering establishments, healing mineral sources, sport and entertainment facilities not only beside the beach strip, but also amongst the beautiful greenery. The golden beach starts literally at the foot of the forest and is 3.5 km long at at some places 100 meters wide. It is flat, covered with golden fine sand.
