LOCATION
At the beginning of the last century Balchik was an aristocratic Romanian resort. Many houses are built of white, elegant and at the same time raw Balchik stone, giving a characteristic appearance of the city. In the former "neighborhood of villas" stands out a magnificent stone building, distinguished by its architecture - Villa "Stork". It is located on the beach, near the longest coastal promenade on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast - "Dam". A few meters from the mansion is the marina, and next to it, as if perched above the water, there are many family hotels and restaurants. Nearby you will find the cultural center "Palace", whose courtyard is an amazing Botanical Garden, turned into a real colorful experience.
HISTORY
The architectural phenomenon in Balchik - Villa Stork was built by Frederic Stork - a hereditary sculptor, naturalized Romanian of German descent, and his wife Cecilia Cuzescu Stork - a famous artist of the first half of the twentieth century, studied in Munich and Paris, the first woman in Europe -teacher at the State Academy of Arts. The villa was built before the summer residence of Romanian Queen Maria to be an art center and summer school for talented children. It was decorated with works by the owners, sculptures by Frederick and murals by Sicily. The artistic family spent the summer months in the city, and Villa Stork was one of the first colonist villas in Balchik.
CURRENT CONDITION
Built on the Balchik coast after the annexation of Dobrogea to Romania in 1919, the building is a cultural monument of local significance. It was decorated with exquisite sculptures and beautiful murals, but was not maintained for a long time. The "Little Palace", as it was called, needs restoration to regain its splendor and splendor.
An architectural project has been prepared for the restoration of this building with the status of a cultural monument. According to the owner, about 80-90% of the value of the restoration can be financed by European programs.
A second project for expansion and completion of the villa has been prepared, through which more rooms can be added and so the property becomes 10 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
Both projects are available in our office and can be provided for consideration by a seriously interested client or investor.
