HOFT - House Of the Flying Trees! Get inspired by nature Concept HOFT - the trinity of green lifestyle, respect for the city's history and modern architecture. The modern city and especially the streets of the historical center are so lacking in living nature in the form of plants and trees, often the streets do not even have the spatial ability to solve this problem. The only solution is to try to transfer trees to buildings. The HOFT project is a unique opportunity to introduce trees and greenery to the facade in the modern volume of the building's facade and the new volume of the courtyard building, creating floating gardens in the historical center of the city, to inspire a new idea of the possibility of living together and in close proximity to nature, regardless of the floor on which we live. More info about the HOFT project here >> Realization of the concept In the central facade, in the yard of the house, on the terraces and in additional structures, using a special fastening system at different levels, conifers are installed: cedar, mountain pine, different types of "bonsai" trees, thus creating a private park for the residents of the house - a green oasis in the very center of the city. It is a reflection on the topic "how we can not only preserve nature in the city, but also reproduce it using modern technologies". The installation creates an unusually strong impression, the trees seem to grow in a natural environment, on mountain heights and slopes. Architecture Gentle restoration of the historic facade, installation of trees as an architectural component of the building, structural glazing as a mirror that reflects the surrounding historic building and serves as a platform for the installation of trees. As a volume that seems to say: "I'm not the main thing here, I just give you the opportunity to enjoy the world outside and from inside me". HOFT is a project in which the landscaping does not complement the architecture, but inspires, intertwines with the forms, creates new volumes, becomes one whole with the facade. Above the carefully preserved and restored historical facade is an absolutely unique oasis floating in the air, just like a glass showcase in which design objects are placed, their creator is Nature herself. Opening the door of the historic building with a completely classic 19th-century facade, you find yourself in the courtyard - a model of modern architecture, moreover, so unusual that you get the impression that you have opened the door to a wonderful hidden world like in Lewis Carroll's story "Alice Through the Looking Glass". Description The HOFT project is located at the address: Strelnieku Street 5, in a landscaped area with an area of 1212 m2. The project consists of two 7-story residential apartment buildings connected by an underground parking lot for 23 cars. The building on Strelnieku Street is an architectural monument to be reconstructed with two additional floors. The building in the yard is a new building. The project has 42 apartments, apartment areas: from 76 m2 to 232 m2, with the possibility of combining. All apartments have balconies with an area of no less than 1.80 m, large bright windows and floor-to-ceiling windows with luxurious views of the yard and trees. The ceiling height is 2.90 m, on the roof floors – 3.00 m. During the design process of HOFT's technical tasks, all parameters have exceeded the European Union Construction Regulations, meeting the highest safety and comfort requirements, thus including HOFT among Premium class projects.
