Accommodations

The current accommodations include owners bungalow, three guest beach bungalows, dining and relaxing bungalow, caretakers house, sports bungalow, and utility buildings. Fresh water is supplied by the islands natural coral filtered well, and electricity for refrigeration and lighting is solar powered.

The island is an approximately 20 acre private island, covered with coconut palms, pandanas, iron wood and various tropical trees, hibiscus, and other blooming flowers and plants. Much of the perimeter is coral sand beach. Accommodations include owners bungalow, three guest beach bungalows, dining and relaxing bungalow, caretakers house, sports bungalow and utility buildings.

Location

The island is located in the South Pacific country of French Polynesia, in the Society Islands, on the reef surrounding the islands of Taha’a, “the vanilla island”, 5 miles from the luxury resort Le Taha’a. And 15 miles from Bora Bora.

Flights from the United States, Asia, Europe, Australia and other international destinations arrive in Papeete daily. A 40 minute local flight brings you to Raiatea/Tahaa, then a short lagoon boat ride brings you to the island. Basic supplies, restaurants and shopping, as well as gourmet foods from France and around the world are available locally.

Local Supplies & Services

The local village Patio, on the nearby island of Tahaa, is a 5 minute boat ride, a bit longer by kayak. Here you find shopping for necessities, government offices, a French doctors office, and local grammar school. Traditional Tahitian festivities and events include music and dancing, crafts, food, and canoe races.
The Raiatea airport is a 25 minute lagoon boat ride, with daily flights to Tahiti, Bora Bora, and other islands. The nearby city of Uturoa, is the cultural center and country’s second largest city. Here you find most everything you desire, including various shops, restaurants, supplies, and community hospital. Markets offer products and food from France and around the world.

Activities

The Sports Bungalow — These accommodations are tailored for the enthousiasts of all water activities that could possibly exist, which includes equipment for snorkeling, windsurfing, kayaking, reef and boat fishing, spearfishing, water skiing, sailing and even golf with floating balls.
The nearby islands offer excursions on land and sea. Scuba diving along the reef and inside the lagoon is spectacular. Charters are available for deep sea fishing for Marlin and Tuna.
