Description

There is no typo!

The mansion is really valued at this mind-boggling amount!

Almost half a billion... euro.

The auction is scheduled for January 2022
The mansion is estimated at 471.000.000 euros (officially declared market price)
(of which 432.647,692 euros is the cost of works of art)

minimum bid offer
it should be in the amount of 353.2500.000 euros
the minimum price increase during the auction is indicated at 1 million euros

You may ask, what can be worth such money?

Answer: the only fresco in the world by Caravaggio!

and only it is estimated by experts in the amount of at least 310 million euros

But!!! it cannot be separated from the villa with all the desire!

This event has already been called the sale of the century!

"Villa Aurora"...

You may ask, how is this possible in our time?

It's very simple. The owners of the villa (a private person) did not even suspect about such a treasure. The mural was discovered quite accidentally under a thick layer of plaster only in the 1960s during repair work.

The fresco itself was painted by a young Caravaggio presumably in 1597.

This is not the only value in the villa, but without a doubt the most significant. In addition to it, there are a number of other important works of art, such as the frescoes of Guercino, paintings, antique statues and much more.

To call this property just a villa, of course, does not correspond to reality.

Given the huge number of works of art, we can safely attribute this mansion to the section of a full-fledged museum with unique and unparalleled works,

des, in the very center of Rome!

This sale is unique and has no analogues.

The decision to put the Aurora Villa up for auction was made by an Italian court after a long dispute between the heirs of its last owner, Prince Nicolo Boncompagni Ludovisi, who passed away in 2018.

What awaits the future owner?
Mandatory complete reconstruction of the building, which is estimated by forensic experts at 11 million euros. This condition is spelled out in the terms of purchase, and the amount is deducted from the sale price.
But what is 11 million when it comes to billions?

The villa has been under the protection of the Italian Ministry of Culture since 1987, which means that the Italian state will be able to intervene in the auction at any time, as it has the primary right to purchase.

The state can intervene already at this stage and purchase the villa at its market price, stated at 471 million euros.

The state will be able to intervene in the future.

That is, even after the villa is awarded to someone at auction, the state can buy it at the same price and award it to itself.

At the moment, the Italian State has not shown any interest in this villa. The state always has the right to purchase, but the question is, does it have such sums now?

The owner herself, Princess Rita, sincerely hopes for this outcome of the case, as she would like to stay in the mansion until the end of her days.

If the government does not find such money and does not intervene, then any private person will be able to purchase the villa.

There are already rumors in Rome about an interest on the part of one sheikh...

about Caravaggio's work itself:

Why is this work considered unique?
Because this is the only fresco ever executed by Caravaggio.
He did not create any other frescoes.
All his other works were on canvas.

The three-meter fresco depicts three ancient deities who rule the sky (Jupiter), the sea (Neptune) and the earth (Pluto).
The mythological plot itself is also unique
Three Roman gods gathered around a transparent ball symbolizing

All three gods are associated with alchemy, as is the first owner of the villa - Cardinal Francesco Maria del Monte. The Cardinal asked Caravaggio to paint his small office, which he used as an alchemical laboratory.

Jupiter symbolizes sulfur and air

Neptune - mercury and water

Pluto - salt and earth

In the center is a translucent globe, which depicts the Sun in orbit around the Earth and the zodiac signs Pisces, Aries, Taurus and Gemini.
