Noble castle by architect Chevalley
To the north of Turin, on the hills that head to Ivrea, in Piedmont, this ancient seventeenth -century castle of considerable elegance is the work of the architect Chevalley. Located on the top of a southern hill of the Morenic amphitheater of Ivrea, this exclusive castle, which belonged to the noble house of the Savoy and Monferrato, extends over 2960 square meters on three floors, surrounded by a park of 2 hectares with secular trees and stables for Horses. Its origins are lost among the eras, presumably dating back to the twelfth century or perhaps even a thousand year old. The architect Chevalley has radically renovated the castle, eliminating the typical horseshoe structure thanks to the construction of the tower, the spectacular loggia and the entrance hall. The castle, with 2500 square meters of internal space on 3 levels, houses large salt characterized by splendid ancient fireplaces and baroque finishes with high windows overlooking the park. From the majestic marble staircase you can access the second floor, dedicated to the sleeping area with three apartments and a chapel, accessible via a wonderful string corridor. The main tower has large bedrooms, bathrooms and a splendid panoramic altana. The basement is intended for the weapon room, a kitchen for events and a wine cellar. In front of the main entrance extends a magnificent terrace overlooking the gardens. The Orangerie is located under the terrace, in front of the Italian garden. A 70 sqm Dépendance, at the entrance of the villa, acts as a residence of the custodian. The property extends over a land of about 2 hectares, with Italian gardens and a private secular forest.
