Burj Khalifa is the tallest of all the skyscrapers in the world, both existing and planned. This is another record (828 meters) going in front of the seven-mile strides of Dubai. Burj Khalifa (Burj Dubai) is a majestic building surrounded by a new building called Old Town, residential and commercial buildings. The interior of the Burj Khalifa is decorated with more than 1,000 works of art by Middle Eastern artists and international masters. A special pride of the building is the lobby of its residential part, decorated with 196 bronze and copper cymbals, which symbolize 196 countries of the world. The cymbals are suspended on titanium rods fixed at the bottom of two pools. Visitors to the lobby will hear a muted timbral sound produced by cymbals covered with 18-carat gold, and imitating the sound of water falling on leaves.
