What has happened? Revenue from tourism reached €418 million from January to April 2023, marking an increase of almost 30% compared with the respective period of last year and 11.30% compared with the corresponding period of 2019, a record-year for Cyprus’ tourism. Such data are provided by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat).
Details. The average expenditure per person was €634,89 in April 2023 compared to €639,65 in April 2022.
Tourists from Israel, which was the second largest market with 9.9% of tourist arrivals in April spent on average €120 per day, followed by the British (the largest tourist market with 36.3% of the total number of tourists) who spent on average €79,51 per day.
Travelers from Poland (the third largest market with 6.7%) spent an average of €78 per day.
