Who Gets the Highest Salary in Serbia?

The best situation is with salaries in Belgrade.

In Serbia, the highest average salary in June was recorded in the sector of computer programming, consulting and other related activities (€2,058), and the lowest — in the service sector (€448).

Professions. Employees of IT companies are the only ones who earn more than €2,000 euros on average.

Other professions:

  • tobacco industry — €1,381
  • air transportation — €1,509;
  • cinematography and TV production — €1,176;
  • research and development — €1,313;
  • financial and management activities — €1109;
  • mining and power supply sector — €852.

In many other sectors, average wages are significantly lower:

  • education — €586;
  • healthcare — €645;
  • public administration and defense — €686.

Cities. Only in four municipalities of Serbia the average salary in June exceeded €852, and all four are located in the Belgrade district. Exactly:

  • in Vrachar — €1,063;
  • in Stari Grad — €1,052;
  • in Novi Beograd — €1,047;
  • in Savski Venac — €974;

The municipality of Belgrade with the lowest monthly income was Sopot — €514, but even this was much more than the average earned in Bojnik, in the Jablanich district of Serbia — €419.

One of the lowest monthly incomes in June was also seen in the area of Pčinj in southern Serbia — €486.

Conclusion. The best situation is with salaries in Belgrade, where the average salary is €799. And recently Belgrade also won the title of the city with the best economic potential.

However, half of the workers in Serbia earn less than €480.
