Andreas Demetriades, president of the Association of Large Investment Projects, said this week that there are still issues related to the permanent residence program in Cyprus and asked the Interior Ministry to "find solutions immediately."
Details. Demetriades, who is also vice-president of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve), said that according to the provisions of the program, third-country nationals who invest in the amount of €300,000 are eligible for a residence permit within two months.
However, he said, "when someone is struggling to arrange a meeting to submit this application, it takes four to five months to schedule a meeting with the appropriate official to submit the documents."
Quote. "This is a problem that is added to other existing problems facing the country's economy, and this issue must be urgently resolved by the Ministry of Internal Affairs," he concluded.
