Henley & Partners in partnership with the analytical agency DeepKnowledge Analytics, have presented an index of the best cities in countries with existing programs for granting a residence permit for investments.

Henley & Partners together with DeepKnowledge Analytics have presented an index of the best cities in countries with existing programs for granting a residence permit (residence permit) for investment.

The new index ranks 25 cities from 24 countries, interested in international capital and talent to restore or develop economies. Multinational companies, entrepreneurs, investors, business owners and professionals can choose where to best place their headquarters, managers, employees and families in the current and post-pandemic world by using this tool.

State programs for granting a residence permit through investment operate in 24 countries around the world. A residence permit can be either temporary or permanent. A residence permit allows you to visit, temporarily or permanently reside in the territory of the country that issued the residence permit. The presence of a residence permit does not require the renunciation of the original citizenship.

The Best Cities for Business With Current "Residence Permit by Investment" Programs

The Henley & Partners City Index takes into account ten parameters for selecting a city and a country. Each of the ten parameters consists of a matrix of one to ten quantitative and qualitative subparameters that relate to a specific topic of their category: place among investment migration programs, security measures against coronavirus, welfare, taxation, education, real estate, healthcare, security, infrastructure, political and economic stability.

London is Above All

The five cities that occupy the first places in the rating are London, New York City, Sydney, Singapore and Zurich indicate a wide geographical range of available options for investment residency programs. On the 1st place with the highest result with an impressive margin is London with the highest score in total.

The current program for investors in exchange for a residence permit "Investor" Tier 1 has been attracting wealthy people from all over the world since 1994.

Zurich and London traditionally top the lists of wealthy investors considering investment migration opportunities. The Swiss program for obtaining a residence permit for individuals offers residency on the terms of payment of an annual lump-sum tax.

Vienna and Lisbon are Stable and Secure Residences

Vienna and Lisbon share the overall first place in terms of the highest indicators of security and stability. Both factors are key for moving investments and businesses.

Both European cities are becoming an increasingly frequent choice for the headquarters of multinational companies. Vienna attracts with its highly skilled workforce and excellent productivity levels, and the technology sector is thriving in Lisbon thanks to business-friendly policies and young university graduates. There are programs for granting a residence permit through investment both in Vienna and Lisbon.

Rome and Zurich occupy the 2nd place thanks to excellent residence programs in Italy and Switzerland, and Athens is on the 3rd place with one of the most popular programs for granting a "golden visa" to Greece (from EUR 250,000).
