  • 6
The analysts chose Amsterdam as a sample.

What has happened? The Dutch company Arcadis, which specializes in sustainable design, engineering and consulting services in the sphere of construction, has published the International Construction Costs 2023 report. The analysts have ranked the world's cities by the cost of construction.

How did they count? The index covers one hundred largest cities in the world on six continents. The comparison was made among 20 different types of real estate - residential, commercial and public buildings, and was based on a review of construction costs, market conditions and the professional assessment of the company's global team of experts.

The index uses Amsterdam as its reference location. Construction prices in the city rose by only 1-2%, although the sector is going to face multiple obstacles in 2023, including a slowdown in the economy and multiple project delays.
