Dubai rated top city in the world for remote workers

What's happened? Savills has published the latest Executive Nomad Index – the ranking of the best locations in the world for remote work.

How did they count? The index ranks 20 destinations that either have a digital nomad visa program, or equivalent, or in the case of the US and the EU, are already part of a large economic bloc that allows free movement of people for living or work.

The cities must have a favorable climate all year round, a high quality of life and have established prime residential markets. Internet speed and air connectivity were also taken into account.

Top 20 global destinations for remote work:

  • Dubai, UAE
  • Malaga, Spain
  • Miami, USA
  • Abu Dhabi, UAE
  • Lisbon, Portugal
  • Barbados
  • Barcelona, Spain
  • Palma, Spain
  • Algarve, Spain
  • Saint Lucia
  • Cayman islands
  • Dubrovnik, Croatia
  • Malta
  • Antigua
  • Cote d'Azur, France
  • Mauritius
  • Athens, Greece
  • Cyprus
  • Bahamas
  • Tuscany, Italy

Quote. Paul Tostevin, head of Savills World Research, told that Dubai has been rated top due to the ability to offer a high quality of life.

"Dubai has topped the list this year and really ticks all the boxes. It has fantastic connectivity with Dubai International Airport, it offers great quality of life and very strong mobile connectivity. Other components include its prime residential market," he said.
